Publishing is a new experience for us here at The Line and one from which we are learning a great deal. Robin's short stories are now available and have, I am delighted to report, been well receoved by those who have already read them.

Copies of Living in the past are available from The Line, Blast Off Books and Linlithgow Bookshop at £12.50, and we will gladly post copies within the UK for an additional £3.00 to cover post and packing.

Calendar 2009 now available

There is nothing quite so definite as the arrival of a new calendar or diary in re-inforcing that time is passing and that the future is closing in. For the third year Elisabet has arranged to have a selection of her most recent images transformed into a small CD format desk calendar. And this year, as The Line is now a 'proper' publisher, we have an ISBN number. How cool is that!

The images for the 2009 calendar of Elisabet's photographs are now at the printer and we are awaiting the first drafts. The format will be the same as in previous years, fitting in to a small CD-type case which can stand unobtrusively on any desk or table, and we hope to be able to maintain the price of £5 each. We will let you know if there are any changes.

Robin Poppelsdorff will be attending the Linlithgow Book Festival - - and will be available to discuss his forthcoming book on the afternoon of Saturday November 1st.

We have always had an involvment with printing and publishing, either through The Line directly or via projects with which we have been involved, but now we are taking a big, exciting step further.

In addition to the cards which we produce 4 or 5 times a year, and the small, CD format calendar of Elisabet's photographs which has proven to be very popular, The Line Publishing will release its first book this autumn.

'Living in the past', is a series of short stories by Robin Poppelsdorff, a writer, teacher and translator who lives both in Italy and in France. The stories will be illustrated with photographs by Siljes Elisabet Thorin and Alan Walker, and will be available in November. Publication will co-incide with an exhibition of black and white photography by Elisabet and by Colin Homes which will run from Saturday October 4th.

We are very hopeful that this first step will lead further.
